Fentanyl seized, G1 driver nabbed after ALPR alert in Bradford: SSP

South Simcoe Police Service drugs seizure

A G1 driver from Toronto faces multiple charges after a traffic stop in Bradford resulted in the seizure of drugs including Fentanyl.

Officers say they were alerted by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system on Saturday around 8:00 p.m. about an unlicensed driver.

"A vehicle stop was conducted in the area of Boyd Lane and Melbourne Drive," police said on Monday.

"Investigation determined the driver was on a release order with specific conditions not to operate a motor vehicle. He was placed under arrest. An investigation followed which resulted in the seizure of drug paraphernalia, a quantity of cash, marijuana, and a quantity of drugs including 95 grams of Fentanyl."  

A 22-year-old man is up on the following:

  • Probation Order: Non-compliance
  • Failure to Comply with Judicial Release
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Possession for the Purpose (2 counts)
  • Possession of Controlled Drugs (2 counts)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Distributing
  • Drive Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis Readily Available
  • Class G1 Licence Holder Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver

He was held for a bail hearing.
