Peter Dykie's frustration has reached a boiling point.
The Bradford West Gwillimbury municipal councillor and owner of Bradford Jewellery on Holland Street East estimates he was robbed of more than $40,000 in items during yet another theft from the store.
Dykie tells Barrie 360 that six cabinets were smashed out and a suspect made off with mostly silver and gold-plated samples.
South Simcoe Police have said they were alerted to an alarm just before 4 a.m. Tuesday and that a male suspect used an unknown object to break glass at the store.
From surveillance video, Dykie says it shows one person in the store, though he believes there was a waiting car as the police canine unit was unable to locate the suspect.
He said there is the financial loss and trauma that goes with these incidents.
Bradford Jewellery was robbed in 2009, and in July 2023, Dykie was injured when he was hit on the head by a gun he went to grab from a suspect during an attempted robbery.
In Tuesday's robbery, police said the male suspect was wearing a black sweater, black sweatpants, black shoes with white soles and was carrying a backpack.
