A car that was parked with its engine running around 3:35 Monday morning in the area of Stevenson Crescent in Bradford piqued the curiosity of South Simcoe Police officers.
As they approached the vehicle, police say the driver fled at a high rate of speed, driving erratically and failing to stop at two stop signs.
Soon after, the vehicle was located in the driveway of a home on Colborne Street. Police say an open container of alcohol was found in the vehicle, and the driver was arrested.
A 28-year-old Bradford man was charged with failing to stop at at a stop sign, careless driving, failing to surrender a permit for a motor vehicle, open liquor in a motor vehicle, and failing to surrender an insurance card.
The driver's licence of the accused was suspended, and his vehicle was impounded.
