Bradford Police Arrest Theft Suspect After Early Morning Door Knocks

Twenty-Year-Old Suspect Facing 21 Charges

Police in Bradford have cuffed a man they say is behind a series of vehicle break-ins.

South Simcoe Police got the first of three calls at about quarter to four Thursday morning, about a man knocking on the front door of a home in the area of Langford Blvd. and Rutherford Rd. Two more calls less than ten minutes apart came in regarding the same thing.

When police arrived to arrest a suspect, they say he fought back and fled on foot. Officers claim he jumped into a pond in an attempt to escape, but that slowed himd down enough for police to collar the suspect. Once in custody, police claim he had stolen property on him, taken from area cars.

The 20-year-old man is facing 21 charges in connection to vehicle thefts, trespassing, and assaulting an officer.
