We have our first image of Brendan Fraser in his upcoming film "The Whale."
Even though he's been appearing in some smaller roles the last few years, this marks Fraser's first leading role in a long time.
In the "A24" film, he plays a man living with obesity who struggles to reconnect with his 17-year-old daughter, played by "Stranger Things" star Sadie Sink.
It's scheduled to debut at the 2022 Venice Film Festival at the end of August.
In an interview with Unilad last year, Fraser spoke a little about the process of making the movie.
"It's gonna be like something you haven't seen before; that's really all I can tell you…The wardrobe and costume was extensive, seamless, cumbersome. This is certainly far removed from anything I've ever done but not to be coy…I do know it's going to make a lasting impression."
Fraser was a huge draw in the late 1990s and early 2000's.
However, a series of personal struggles saw him step away from Hollywood for a while.
The good news is, he's been experiencing a resurgence the last few years, appearing in "The Affair," "Doom Patrol" and "No Sudden Move."
His upcoming roles include a part in Martin Scorsese's Apple western "Killers of the Flower Moon" in addition to playing Garfield Lynns/Firefly in 'Batgirl," later this year.
