A Barrie police officer took notice of a vehicle with a front headlight that was out as it pulled into a plaza at Cundles Road and Bayfield Street on Wednesday night.

The officer caught a strong whiff of weed coming from the vehicle as he approached it. Police allege the officer seized marijuana, as well as cocaine, fentanyl and some Canadian currency. Once the suspect was at police headquarters, investigators allege they also found him to be in possession of prescription medication.

A 25-year-old from Oshawa has been charged with a slew of drug possession and trafficking charges, as well as obstructing police and driving without proper headlights.

He was held for a bail hearing which was scheduled for Thursday.
