Buy a meal for a front-line worker at RVH

Goal of the campaign is to feed an entire shift at the hospital

A Barrie man has teamed up with a local restaurant and catering business to prepare meals for an entire shift at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.

Marshall Green, vice-chair of the Barrie Community Foundation, and Jennifer Long-Allen, co-owner of Cravings Fine Food, want this gesture to be a thank you to the staff at the hospital who are on the front-line combating COVID-19, including doctors, nurses and cleaning staff.

As a way for the public to express their gratitude, people are encouraged to purchase a meal for $15.

“We want to get enough meals for a whole shift and we need 300 meals to do that,” said Green.

The response so far has been more than impressive. Green is even thinking the support might be strong enough to provide meals over a couple of shifts.

To support the cause, the public can pay by VISA by calling Cravings Fine Food Monday-Friday (705-734-2272) or by e-Transfer at info@cravingsfinefood.ca . There is no limit on how many meals a person can purchase. If payment is made by e-Transfer, send a separate email with your name. They are also going to present a huge “thank you” card with the delivery.

Green said the hospital is fully on board with the campaign.
