Call to 911 leads to suspected drunk driver north of Barrie
Stop made, driver arrested near Forbes Road
A driver on Highway 400 north of Barrie didn’t like what he saw ahead of him. “There’s a white car, throwing beer cans out, and he is going to kill somebody. He almost hit the guardrail; he almost hit a transport truck,” Robert Stratton told a 911 operator.
He continued to follow the car – from a safe distance – until Ontario Provincial Police arrived near Forbes Road. A passenger in Stratton’s vehicle took a video which was turned over to police.
A 45-year-old Niagara Falls man has been charged with Impaired Driving, Impaired – over 80 and Dangerous Driving.
