York Regional Police have identified two more suspects and issued Canada-wide warrants for their arrest in connection with the December 2021 attack on Elnaz Hajtamiri.
Police say she was confronted by two men in an underground parking garage in Richmond Hill and was struck with a frying pan. Hajtamiri suffered serious head injuries.
To date, four individuals, including the victim’s ex-boyfriend, have been charged in connection with that incident.
At a news conference on Thursday, police said arrest warrants had been issued for 24-year-old Jaspreet Singh of Delta, British Columbia and 23-year-old Sukhprett Singh of Mississauga.
According to police, both men are wanted on charges of aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
Weeks after the Richmond Hill attack, police have said Hajtamiri was abducted from a relative's home in Wasaga Beach. Investigators said she was dragged from the residence by three suspects dressed in fake police gear.
Hajtamiri was bundled into a vehicle described as a 2016-2022 white Lexus RX SUV.
She has not been heard from since.
A $100,000 reward has been offered for information about her location.
