Another break-and-enter to a business in Angus is being investigated by Ontario Provincial Police.
Shortly after midnight on Dec. 31, police were dispatched to a break-in at Angus Variety on Margaret Street.
The suspects fled before officers arrived.
"The preliminary investigation revealed that one unknown suspect believed to be male, approximately 5'10", wearing pale coloured clothes and a dark coloured backpack, approached the store from the northwest side and smashed the front door with a hammer. The suspect entered the store and stole a cash register with approximately $500 in it," police said in a news release.
Investigators believe the suspect might have been involved in several other break-and-enters that occurred early New Year's Eve.
In those incidents, the front glass doors were smashed by at least two suspects at the Ultramar gas station, Uplift Cannabis store and Yes Nails on Mill Street. A break-in was also reported at NAPA AUTOPRO.
There is no word if anything was stolen.
Police are asking residents to review their video surveillance or dash camera footage for any suspicious activity
CORRECTION: An earlier media release from Nottawasaga OPP on Jan. 2, 2025 said $5,000 was in the cash register.
