Casino Big Wigs Eying Early 2020 For Wasaga Beach Groundbreaking
Gateway Casinos Hopes to Break Ground in Second Quarter of 2020, Opening Mid-2021
Those behind a new casino coming to Wasaga Beach are eying the early months of 2020 to break ground on the new build.
Gateway Casinos and Entertainment said the groundbreaking for the facility should take place in the second quarter of 2020, with an opening planned for the third quarter of 2021.
“I want to thank Gateway for its continued commitment to our community,” Mayor Bifolchi said. “We are excited to have Gateway become a part of Wasaga Beach. The new casino means new direct and indirect jobs, as well as new entertainment and dining offerings.”
Gateway Casinos and Entertainment has opted for a 7.5 acre parcel of land on Mosley St. to the south of the Beachwood Rd. roundabout as the site for its new gambling centre. The proposed complex is expected to contain a mix of slots and table games.
