Cat and Dog Rescued From Burning Oro Medonte House

Fire Did About $300,000 in Damage

Fire crews in Oro Medonte rescued two family pets from a burning home.

Oro Medonte Fire was called out to a home on Lakeshore Road West near the 5th Line of Oro around 9:30 Tuesday morning, to find smoke billowing from its windows.

Crews from Shanty Bay and Hawkestone responded, and were able to contain the fire to an upstairs bedroom. Nobody was home at the time of the fire, while a cat and dog were rescued.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, while it caused about $300,000 in damage.
