Residents can take climate action beyond Earth Day by participating in a variety of community events and programs this spring. The Town will hold its annual Pitch-In Day on May 13, which invites everyone to help keep Innisfil clean by collecting litter from road edges, public trails, parks, and road ends. People are asked to register online before picking up their complimentary clean-up kits, which include garbage bags, gloves, and a safety tips sheet.

The South Simcoe Streams Network’s Trees for Streams events are returning to help plant native trees and shrubs along local waterways. Willing and able volunteers are needed for weekend planting events in Innisfil:

  • Sunday, April 23 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. along Innisfil Creek near Churchill
  • Saturday, May 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. along Bon Secours Creek at Innisfil Beach Park in Alcona

Anyone wishing to participate in a planting event must register online at least one day prior to the event.
