Charges laid in data breach at 407 ETR
Thousands of names, addresses and phone numbers collected
Charges have been laid in what’s described as a massive data breach at the 407 Express Toll Route.
York Regional Police were contacted a year ago when ETR management found customer data had been accessed by an employee without authorization.
Names, addresses and phone numbers of 60-thousand ETR customers were collected.
No credit card information was taken.
A 37-year-old Toronto man has been charged with Mischief.
