Gravenhurst man expected in court in early August

A Gravenhurst man is up on charges after cops say a drunk driver took someone else’s wheels without permission.

Around 4:00 Monday afternoon, Bracebridge OPP detachment got a call from a vehicle owner claiming their car was taken without consent, adding they were concerned the one who did the taking had also been drinking.

The vehicle in question was stopped on Highway 11 through Huntsville. Officers commenced a drunk driving investigation on the spot and now say a 38-year-old man is facing charges including taking a vehicle without consent, drunk driving, and probation violation. He will be in Bracebridge court in early August.
