It turns out AI can't write a decent show about a world that revolves around AI.

The creator of the hit sci-fi show "Black Mirror" says he once had ChatGPT write an episode, and it was "S^!t"

In an interview with Empire magazine, Charlie Brooker says he asked the artificial intelligence chatbot to write an episode by typing "generate 'Black Mirror' episode.

He explained "It comes up with something that, at first glance, reads plausibly, but on second glance, is s^!t, because all it's done is look up all the synopses of 'Black Mirror' episodes, and sort of mush them together."

"If you dig a bit more deeply, you go, 'Oh, there's not any real original thought here.'" he said.

It wasn't all that bad, though, as it helped Booker pinpoint some "Black Mirror" cliches that he hopes to correct.

"I had written lots of episodes where someone goes, 'Oh, I was inside a computer the whole time!"

"So I thought, 'I'm just going to chuck out any sense of what I think a 'Black Mirror' episode is.' There's no point in having an anthology show if you can't break your own rules. "

He added the revelation was like a 'nice, cold glass of water in the face.'

Season 6 hits Netflix on June 15.
