South Simcoe Police are investigating a serious crash involving a pickup truck and an SUV that has resulted in charges against both drivers.
Police said the collision happened around 6 p.m. on Thursday in the area of the 5th Sideroad and 4th Line.
A 43-year-old Bracebridge man driving the pickup was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. He was charged with careless driving.
Police said the 38-year-old driver of the other vehicle and a 10-year-old male passenger, both from Bradford, were not wearing seatbelts, and they were transported to a local hospital. The male driver of the SUV sustained serious injuries, while the child was eventually taken to a Toronto hospital in critical but stable condition. The motorist was charged with failing to properly wear a seatbelt and driving while a child was not properly secured.
Police are appealing to witnesses and anyone with dash camera footage to contact them.
