Child porn bust in Essa Township

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, Digital Forensics Unit and Nottawasaga OPP Detachment members have arrested and charged an Essa Township resident following a child sexual exploitation investigation.

On March 1, 2023, police executed a search warrant in the Essa Township and seized a quantity of electronic devices. As a result of this investigation, a 67-year-old man was arrested and charged on March 15, 2023, with two counts of  Possession of Child Pornography, as per section 163.1 (4) and Making Available Child Pornography, as per section 163.1(3) of the Criminal Code.

The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear on May 4, 2023 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford.
