
A driver was charged Friday after a concerned citizen reported two people with alcohol coming from a vehicle in Innisfil Beach Park.
Around 7 p.m., South Simcoe Police got the report which claimed two individuals were walking from their vehicle in the park with a full case of beer.
Police located the black Mercedes, as described, travelling on Innisfil Beach Road. They eventually stopped the vehicle in front of Innisfil Fire Hall.

Officers investigated and believed the driver was impaired by alcohol and subsequently arrested him.
The driver was also unable to provide valid insurance and the temporary validation sticker on the vehicle had expired.
The 22-year-old from Brockville was handed charges under these five sections of code:
Highway Traffic Act section 7(1)(a)
No person shall drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless, there exists a currently validated permit for the vehicle;
Highway Traffic Act section 44.1(3)
Every novice driver who contravenes the condition of his or her driver’s licence imposed under subsection (1) is guilty of an offence and on conviction is liable to a fine of not less than $60 and not more than $500.
Criminal Code section 320.14(1)(a)
Everyone commits an offence who operates a conveyance while the person’s ability to operate it is impaired to any degree by alcohol or a drug or by a combination of alcohol and a drug;
Criminal Code section 320.14(1)(b)
Everyone commits an offence who subject to subsection (5), has, within two hours after ceasing to operate a conveyance, a blood alcohol concentration that is equal to or exceeds 80 mg of alcohol in 100 mL of blood;
Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act section 2(1)(a)
Subject to the regulations, no owner or lessee of a motor vehicle shall operate the motor vehicle;
The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded. He is scheduled to appear in court in early August.
