City of Orillia waiving upfront rec program costs for Summer session

Refunds being provided for those registered in Spring

The City of Orillia is waiving upfront charges on its summer recreation programming.

“We know these are very uncertain times for families and we want to give them an opportunity to reserve a spot in our summer camp programs without carrying the financial burden of doing so at this time,” said Mayor Steve Clarke. “We are hopeful that our concerted efforts to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 virus will mean Orillia is able to offer its summer camps starting in July, but as with everything right now, we are monitoring the situation closely and will reevaluate as we get closer to the summer.”

The City had previously cancelled all Spring rec programs in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, with refunds provided to customer accounts for future use.
