City, Soccer Club Score Some New Goal Posts

Turfing Old Ones, Installing New Posts, At a Cost of 45 Grand

The City of Barrie is helping to pick up the tab on some new goal posts.

Barrie City Council voted Monday night to partner up with the Barrie Soccer Club, to get some new goal posts and nets installed at Huronia North Park, at a projected cost of $45,000.

That price tag includes the removal of the existing posts at the park, and also covers the installation costs of the new posts.

The Soccer Club is responsible for sourcing new equipment, the city is tasked with getting rid of the old ones. Once completed, the City would own everything, while contributing a total of $22,500 to the project.
