Coldplay is trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible while on tour, so they're turning to the fans for help,

They've provided kinetic dance floors and dozens of energy-storing stationary bikes that fans can power by movement during their world tour.

The band's hoping to cut their CO2 emissions by 50 percent.

Pre-show contests are held to see which group of fans can generate the most power to get the audience pumped up.

Meanwhile, the stationary bikes can generate an average of 200 watts of energy, captured in batteries that run elements of the show.

Bassist Guy Berryman says using fans to generate energy during the shows is a chance to do something fun.
