Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 53-year-old Collingwood woman with impaired driving after a collision in which a motorist struck a hydro pole, causing damage to two vehicles.

On Thursday around 11:20 p.m., police received a report of a single-vehicle collision on Centre Line Road just north of Warrington Road near Stayner, in Clearview Township. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle in the ditch, after having collided with a hydro pole and then a tree.

Police spoke with the motorist and began an impaired driving investigation. The driver was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver's licence of the accused has been suspended, and her vehicle has been impounded.

The woman has a court date in September.
