Collingwood continues Veterans Banner Program

Banners with pictures of servicemen and women to be showcased in Downtown Collingwood

A banner program to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the end of the First World War will continue in Collingwood this year.

The Collingwood Downtown Business Improvement Area and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 63 have teamed up to continue the program that honours veterans.

Since 2018, Veterans Banners with pictures of servicemen and women have been hung alongside the poppy banners on light standards in Downtown Collingwood to recognize Remembrance Day.

To date, more than 60 banners have been produced.

Collingwood Downtown Business Improvement Area will be assuming all production and installation costs.

Anyone who wants to recognize a veteran can purchase a banner by making a $100 donation the Legion’s poppy fund.
