A drug trafficking investigation that began this summer led to a search warrant being executed at Katherine Street home in Collingwood early Thursday with the arrest of five people and the seizure of drugs, a loaded handgun, three expandable batons, and $855 Canadian cash.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say the drugs seized include cocaine, fentanyl and magic mushrooms.

The suspects are all from Collingwood.

A 48-year-old man faces 10 charges, mostly weapon and drug-related, as well as failure to comply with a release order and possession of proceeds of crime. The other suspects have been charged with drug trafficking.

Two of the individuals were held in custody for a bail hearing while the other three were released with an undertaking to appear in court at a future date.
