Orillia man charged with first-degree murder in connection to death of Collingwood woman

OPP say they have charged an Orillia man with first-degree murder in connection to the death of a Collingwood woman.

On the morning of Friday, June 10, Collingwood & Blue Mountains OPP responded to a report of a death in a Georgian Meadows subdivision.

Police located a deceased female inside the residence, who has been identified as 55-year-old Kinga Kriston of Collingwood.

Investigators say they have arrested and charged a 57-year-old Orillia man with first-degree murder.

The accused was remanded into custody, and will appear via video before Collingwood court on Monday, June 13.

The investigation is continuing under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) with members of the Collingwood OPP Crime Unit, with the assistance of OPP Forensic Identification Services and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
