OPP investigating report of attempted abduction in Collingwood

OPP are investigating a reported attempted abduction in Collingwood that happened over the weekend.

Police say the incident took place in the area of Tenth Street and Oak Street on the evening of Saturday, April 30.

According to officers, a female was riding her bicycle past a vehicle when a man reached through the window and grabbed her by the arm. The victim freed herself, and left the area.

OPP say the suspect is described as a white, heavy build, in his 30s or 40s, and wearing a black jacket and red toque.

The vehicle is described as a red Sport Utility Vehicle, or crossover, and was last seen driving away from the area.

The OPP are reminding the public to be aware of their surroundings and personal safety, and to call police to report any suspicious activity.
