Suspicious person call in Collingwood leads to the arrest of 3 people by police

Provincial police say they made a series of arrests early Friday after officers were called to reports of a suspicious person going through vehicles in the area of Gibbard Crescent in Collingwood.

Around 5 a.m. on Saturday, police located a 35-year-old Collingwood man and charged him with trespassing at night and theft. Authorities say the suspect was wanted by another police service and has since been transferred to appear in court in that jurisdiction.

As police continued their investigation, officers located a vehicle nearby and identified the occupants, who they believed were connected to the initial call.

A 45-year-old Wasaga Beach man was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with failing to attend court and possession of cocaine. He was held for a bail hearing.

A 32-year-old Wasaga Beach woman was arrested and charged with impaired driving. Police said her vehicle was impounded for seven days and her driver's licence was suspended for 90 days. She was given a court date to appear in Collingwood.
