Provincial police have charged a man and a woman with multiple drug-related offences after a traffic stop on Tuesday morning in Collingwood.

Around 3 a.m., Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP patrolling in the area of Beachwood Road stopped a vehicle, which eventually yielded two arrests.

A 45-year-old man and 47-year-old woman from Wasaga Beach were charged with four offences related to possession of a schedule one substance, while the male was additionally charged on two counts of forging documents, two counts of operation while prohibited, and obstructing a peace officer.

Both were held for bail and appeared in court.

"Drug trafficking, impaired driving, and prohibited driving offences pose significant risks to public safety, and the OPP will continue to investigate and hold offenders accountable," the service said in a news release.

Police did not outline the quantities of what was seized from the traffic stop.
