Ontario Provincial Police followed a debris trail after they responded to a report of multiple vehicles being struck in a residential area of Angus.

Around 9 p.m. on Monday, police received a report that a dark-coloured pickup truck had collided with several parked cars on Margaret Street.

When officers arrived, the driver had fled the scene. Following a trail of debris and damage on the road, police located the vehicle with the driver inside.

An Angus man was charged with impaired driving, fail to remain and driving a vehicle with an open container of liquor.

The accused is to appear in court in Bradford at a later date.

His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
