Three-vehicle collision closes a portion of Bayfield Street

Barrie Police have charged a 46-year-old man with Impaired Driving and Failure to Remain after a three-vehicle collision early this morning (1:15 a.m.) on Bayfield Street at Hanmer Street. He was arrested a short distance away.

Five people were taken to hospital. None of their injuries was considered life-threatening.

Images from the scene show one vehicle with a wheel from another embedded in a right rear panel.

A stretch of Bayfield between Livingstone and Carson, which was closed for several hours overnight has been reopened.
