Barrie Police say a driver who plowed into four vehicles at the intersection of Bayfield and Grove Streets on Thursday night was allegedly impaired and blew four times the legal limit.

"Upon arrival at the intersection, police located five vehicles that were involved in what can be described as a chain reaction collision. From the investigation that followed, police very quickly determined that four vehicles were struck by southbound car being operated by a 31-year-old female from Holland Landing," police said in a news release on Friday.

One of the drivers was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.

The woman has been charged with impaired driving and has a court date in October.
