Cooling stations open in Innisfil on Tuesday

Cooling stations located at three library branches

News release from the Town of Innisfil

The Town of Innisfil, following the heat warning issued by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU), will open cooling stations on Tuesday, May 31.

The cooling stations will be located at the following library branches starting on May 31 until the heat warning is cancelled.

  • 20 Church Street, (Cookstown) 10 am -8 pm
  • 967 Innisfil Beach Road (Alcona) 9:30 am-8 pm
  • 7883 Yonge Street (Stroud) 10 am -5 pm

Please note, to keep everyone safe, mask use is highly recommended at these cooling centre locations.

According to SMDHU, maximum temperatures on Tuesday will be in the low thirties, and little relief from the heat is expected on Tuesday night.
