Approximately 1000 lbs of copper wire stolen in Huntsville: OPP

Huntsville OPP is investigating the theft of copper wire, causing an estimated $10,000 worth of damages.

Authorities say the theft occurred between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on April 4, from a utility pole near Greer Road in Huntsville.

According to police, the unknown parties severed and removed the approximately 1000 lbs of wire before loading it into their pickup truck.

As the investigation continues, OPP ask for the public's assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible.
