UPDATE: Arrests Made After Cops Back Off On High Speed Chase Twice

Plates Didn't Belong To Vehicle

The OPP say a man and woman have been arrested, following an investigation into a high speed chase earlier this month. Investigators say not only were the pair in a vehicle involved in high speed chases on May 11th, they’ve also been charged in connection to a series of B&Es throughout Springwater Township.

Police called off a pursuit twice, and are still on the hunt for a driver.

Around 1:00 Saturday afternoon, the OPP started getting calls about a reckless driver behind the wheel of a silver BMW in the area of Angus. A vehicle matching the description was spotted, and police tried to pull it over. That’s when OPP say the car sped off along Brentwood Drive towards Wasaga Beach. After a brief chase, police backed off for safety’s sake.

The same vehicle was spotted further down the road, and while police again gave chase, the pursuit was called off in the interest of public safety.

Police were able to get a licence plate number, but say it wasn’t for the vehicle in question. An image believed to be of the two in the vehicle was taken from a local business, but is of a very small resolution.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Nottawasaga OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
