A 20-year-old Barrie man is facing child porn and other charges following a three-month investigation by the Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit.

Police say the suspect who was not identified was arrested on Sunday and charged with luring a child, making child pornography and invitation to sexual touching.

Investigators allege the man used an online social media website to communicate with a nine-year-old child living in the United States, in which he allegedly exploited and threatened the victim in exchange for explicit pictures.

The man was released on an undertaking with several conditions and a future court date.
