Driver charged in August Fail to Remain in Barrie that left a pedestrian with life-altering injuries

Closing up for the night proved to be a challenge at a local business when police say a Barrie man refused to leave the washroom.

Police say they were called to the Yonge Street business just after midnight on Thursday.

When they arrived, police say officers recognized the man, who was wanted for outstanding warrants for assault, mischief and failure to appear for fingerprints and court.

Police allege the man was also in possession of crystal meth.

The 51-year-old from Barrie is charged with possession of a controlled substance and was remanded into custody to answer to that offence, as well as the outstanding warrant charges.
