Man Accused of Trying His Luck Twice in One Day

Barrie Police getting the nod for arresting an Orillia bank robbery suspect.

A man walked into a downtown Orillia bank branch on July 11th around 3:30, and according to the OPP, handed the teller a note demanding cash. Police say the suspect fled, leaving empty handed, but tried their luck again at a west end bank a few hours later. A note was passed, same as before, while this time an undisclosed amount of cash was handed over.

The OPP Major Crimes Unit poured over the scene and ended up having an arrest warrant issued for a 35-year-old Parry Sound man. The suspect was tracked down by Barrie Police on Wednesday. He faces two counts of Robbery among others.
