COVID-19 outbreak at Vaughan window factory, five people from Simcoe Muskoka infected

York Region Public Health says there are 62 confirmed infections

Five people from Simcoe Muskoka are among 62 individuals confirmed to have COVID-19 that has been linked to an outbreak at a window manufacturing and installation facility in Vaughan.

York Region Public Health said on Sunday they were notified of the first case at State Window Corporation on Nov. 10.

Since then, there have been 61 cases, prompting health officials to declare an outbreak on Nov. 20.

As well, there are five probable cases and one case under investigation.

Health authorities said an on-site inspection of the factory has been conducted and they are working with the employer to identify additional cases and close contacts.
