Barrie police have charged a 40-year-old Bradford man with three counts of criminal harassment.
Police say their investigation began on September 16 after a report of a suspicious incident in which a man allegedly engaged in an inappropriate conversation with three females who were on their way to school.
The accused was released from custody and is to appear in court late this month.
"The Barrie Police Service strongly encourages parents to discuss and remind their children what to do if they ever encounter a stranger. By reviewing safety plans for your child, and using this incident as an example, you will be able to reinforce that no one should ever speak to a stranger and, if they do, what needs to be done to ensure their safety," police said in a news release.
Police added that to prevent any form of revictimization, no further details regarding this investigation will be released.
