A year ago, people worldwide were glued to their computers and phones watching the Johnny Depp VS Amber Heard trial.

Netflix plans to revisit the courtroom and social media circus in the upcoming docuseries "Depp v. Heard."

The series's 2-minute trailer has been released, which revisits the chaos in and out of the courtroom.

A synopsis reads, "Showing both testimonies side-by-side for the first time, this series explores the trial that set Hollywood ablaze and the online fallout that ensued."

From random people live streaming and tweeting their opinions to prime-time news coverage, the sensationalism of the trial was impossible to avoid.

The trial kicked off in April 2022 when Depp sought $50 million in damages, alleging an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post damaged his career.

Heard countersued.

During the trial, each claimed to be the victim of spousal abuse.

There were over 200 hours of live-streamed coverage during the trial, millions of people commented and shared their opinions, and the court of public opinion was unstoppable.

The jury decided primarily in favour of Depp in the trial.

The three-part docuseries "Depp v. Heard" starts streaming on Netflix Aug. 16.
