Police are asking for help identifying a dirt bike rider accused of dangerous driving in Port Sydney.
Huntsville OPP say officers responded to complaints on the evenings of May 22 and May 25 involving a rider allegedly operating a dirt bike recklessly through the community. Police say the rider failed to stop for officers on both occasions.
Investigators say they continue to receive complaints about dirt bikes speeding, riding on sidewalks and private property, and creating excessive noise in the area. Police remind riders that dirt bikes are considered off-road vehicles under Ontario law and must follow the rules around helmets, age restrictions, and where they can legally operate.
Dirt bikes are not permitted on public roads.
While snowmobiles may be allowed in some areas, ORVs are generally intended for off-road use. Only single-rider ATVs are permitted on the shoulder of certain provincial highways and municipal roads where local bylaws allow.

Outdoor activities like ORV riding come with responsibilities. The OPP is urging riders, and parents and guardians of young riders, to put safety first and ensure off-road vehicles are operated responsibly.
