A Facebook group featuring local vendors continues highlighting the importance of supporting local.
Launched in Christmas 2021, the DIY online market has featured local vendors and has since created a community of support.
Owner Kerry-Lynn Embrack says they have expanded that to include other local businesses and have devised a fun way for others to get involved.
"We thought it'd be fun to start a local scavenger hunt, where we drop off swag bags that other vendors and I have put together, and drop them off at local businesses," she explains.
Embrack says the response from these businesses has been outstanding.
"We ask their permission to drop off the goodie bags; they have been so welcoming. If we support each other, consider the difference that could make in our community alone."
So far, goodie bags have been dropped off at The Snack Shack, Barrie Hill Farms, and Timpano, with more packages ready to head out this weekend.
If you find a goodie bag at these locations, simply tag the business where you found it, and enjoy the gifts inside.
All the care packages are dropped off by their mascot, 'Drysdale the Dino,' you can't miss him.
Be sure to follow them on Facebook for clues on where they are.
Embrack says any local businesses or organizations who want to have a swag bag dropped off for their clients are welcome to ask for one.
Currently, market vendors are featuring products for "Grad's and Dad's."
The page has a huge list of items for graduation and Father's Day, all made locally.
Embrack says the group continues to grow and is overwhelmed by how much support they offer each other.
"Without them, this would have never been anything. They're a huge help in coming up with ideas, and I respect and appreciate all of them." she says.
