Dog plucked from ravine by Orillia OPP officer

Police say the dog has been reunited with his family

A doggone rescue of a pooch from a steep ravine in the Orillia area.

Provincial police say officers were advised of a dog in distress near Warminster Sideroad.

The dog, named Sanka, was fighting off snakes, bugs and poison ivy.

Constable Martin Hill climbed down a steep ravine to rescue the stressed-out dog.

The dog was reunited with his family, no worse for wear.

Sanka had been missing for just under a day, according to police.
