Dog shot while on walk in Simcoe County Forest

UPDATE: OPP told Barrie 360 in an email on Thursday evening that the dog is okay and recovering comfortably.

OPP are investigating after a dog was shot while walking last weekend with its owner in the Simcoe County Forest in Clearview Township.

This happened Saturday afternoon around 3:30 around Bear Alley near Centre Line Road.

Police say the dog's injuries are consistent with a shotgun blast.

They believe there was a witness and are hoping that person will come forward.
