Drew Barrymore is going to sit this one out.
The daytime talk show host has withdrawn from hosting the MTV Movie and TV Awards in a show of support for striking Hollywood writers.
A few of her pre-recorded segments might air, but the show will be without a host.
In a statement to the Huffington Post she said" I have listened to the writers, and in order to truly respect them, I will pivot from hosting the MTV Movie & TV Awards live in solidarity with the strike.”
“Everything we celebrate and honour about movies and television is born out of their creation. And until a solution is reached, I am choosing to wait, but I’ll be watching from home and hope you will join me." she continued.
She thanked MTV and said she will be back next year.
Hollywood writers hit the picket lines earlier this week after talks between The Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers broke down.
