Driver picks up friend at police detachment in stolen vehicle: Caledon OPP

There are things in life you should never do.

Case in point from Caledon OPP who say a driver came to pick up his friend on Thursday in a stolen vehicle.

An officer spotted the vehicle and learned it had been stolen earlier in the month.

When police tried to stop the vehicle, the motorist made contact with a cruiser, but officers were able to safely stop the car and arrest the driver and occupant.

Police say evidence of drug trafficking and stolen items were seized from the suspect and vehicle.

A 53-year-old from Mississauga has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Flight from Police
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possession of Stolen Identity Document
  • Possession of Stolen Credit Card

A 39-year old from Fenelon Township has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Stolen Identity Document
  • Possession of Stolen Credit Card

All accused persons are scheduled to appear in Orangeville Provincial Court in March.
