If someone was looking to catch police attention, this was a sure-fire way.

Barrie police say they were conducting a RIDE spot check on Cundles Road West, east of Anne Street, on Friday night when a westbound vehicle approached and made an "abrupt U-turn" and drove into the parking lot of a nearby plaza.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle and a 35-year-old woman was arrested for impaired driving. She was taken to police headquarters where the investigation continued.

The woman was charged with impaired driving.

She has a court date later this month.

Her vehicle was impounded for seven days, and her driver's licence was suspended for 90-days.
