Drug charges against suspect who fled a traffic stop in Collingwood on Friday

Police said the investigation is continuing

A suspect is in custody after fleeing a traffic stop on Highway 26 in Collingwood last Friday morning as the OPP attempted to make an arrest in an ongoing investigation.

The vehicle was found a short time later but the occupants fled the scene prompting a search by provincial police that lasted several hours.

The key suspect in the investigation was arrested later that afternoon by police in Peel Region.

A 20-year-old Brampton man is facing 10 possession and trafficking charges related to cocaine, heroin and opioids.
