
Two people have been charged in connection with an investigation into drug trafficking in Orillia.
In the summer, provincial police received information about someone who was trafficking drugs in the city.
Using "physical and technological surveillance," a suspect was taken into custody, police stated in a news release.
On Thursday, police stopped a vehicle northbound from Highway 11 that was travelling from the Greater Toronto Area.
Two people were arrested, and a search warrant was executed at a reidence linked to one of them.
Police seized 741 grams of cocaine, three-and-a-half grams of psilocybin, and $500 in Canadian cash.
A 43-year-old from Brampton and a 27-year-old from Windsor have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), failure to comply with an undertaking, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The suspect from Windsor was also charged with possession of psilocybin.
Both were held for bail hearings and remain in custody pending court appearances
